As Chief Open Innovation Officer of Mozilla, Katharina’s goal is to expand the innovation potential of the makers of Firefox by taking advantage of the expertise, diverse perspectives, and ideas of a global audience. Katharina is also a member of the Young Global Leaders community of the World Economic Forum.

 

Previously Katharina was CEO at Spiegel Online, the online division of one of Europe’s most influential magazines. Prior to that, she was Editor-in-Chief and CEO at WAZ Media Group, where she completely reimagined the way digital local and regional journalism could be done.

 

In the early days of the internet Katharina worked as an independent writer focusing on technology and the sociopolitical implications of the digital age.
