Andras is co-founder and CEO of Modern Meadow, a pioneer in biofabrication harnessing the power of design, biology, and materials science to produce the world’s first biofabricated materials brand, Zoa™. Modern Meadow materials enable new design and performance possibilities and by partnering with some of the world’s most cherished and innovative consumer brands, aims to bring new life to the material world. In this completely animal-free approach, Modern Meadow designs, grows and assembles collagen, the foundational building block of traditional leather, into a network of fibers that is then processed and can be tanned and fashioned into various products. Modern Meadow is still, for now, in the research and development stage.

Previously, Andras co-founded Organovo, which uses 3D bioprinting to create functional human tissues for pharmaceutical research and medical applications, such as drug development and replacement tissues. Organovo’s bioprinting technology was recognized by MIT Technology Review on its TR50 list of most innovative companies for 2012.
