I cannot hide I am delighted! The first mass media is finally taking a stand.

On December 8, 2015 Arianna Huffington declared in A Note on Trump: We Are No Longer Entertained the new strategy of The Huffington Post dealing with Republican candidate for the US president, Donald Trump.

Back in July 2015 they had announced to put their coverage of Trump’s presidential campaign in their Entertainment section instead of the Politics section. That has changed now.

With Trump’s most recent vicious statements a decision has been made: enough is enough!

“So if Trump’s words and actions are racist, we’ll call them racist. If they’re sexist, we’ll call them sexist. We won’t shrink from the truth or be distracted by the showmanship.” – Arianna Huffington

Already on Dec. 1, 2015, The Washington Post published a column by Dana Milbank, who stated refreshingly clearly:

“… there is a greater imperative not to be silent in the face of demagoguery. Trump in this campaign has gone after African Americans, immigrants, Latinos, Asians, women, Muslims and now the disabled.”

To make my position clear:

I applaud to this step from The Huffington Post.

I applaud it because I personally find Trump’s behavior unacceptable. But more importantly, it is unacceptable watching the damage these irresponsible messages do to the collective consciousness.

I applaud The Huffington Post for taking this step to becoming a mass media of the New Earth.

When George W. Bush became elected as president the 2nd time, I remember many of the younger Americans apologizing for such a representative of their people. Yes, I could understand this embarrassment.

Bush was a placeholder. What he represented became so obvious for the masses, that it triggered awakenings in many, many people. For that we should be grateful.

With Trump it’s a similar game. He is a placeholder. A placeholder for many to wake up and for us to stand up and declare our disagreement.

Our generation is aiming for a peaceful society, for a society that respects all beings – no matter what.

A US president who promotes attitudes of misogyny, xenophobia and scapegoating of immigrants, who lies and bullies is in no way, shape or form a worthy representative of our values.

Again: Mr. Trump, we are no longer entertained ! Go home!

Thank you, Arianne, for stepping up!
